Seven people were arrested on Sunday in Bihar’s capital city- Patna, after a video of them allegedly torturing and forcing four college students to perform unnatural sex went viral.
The incident is said to have taken place on Wednesday last week, and the victims have been identified as inmates of Kushwala hostel. It is a private students hostel located in Pokhariya area which falls under the jurisdiction of town police station.
All the four college students are in the age group of 18-21 years. They were abducted by the miscreants from Kali Asthan chowk and taken behind Begusarai divisional jail premise where they were allegedly disrobed, assaulted and forced to perform unnatural sexual acts with each other, reported PTI.
“The students were subjected to the cruelty allegedly due to their refusal to buy water from a plant owned by one of the accused,” police told PTI.
The accused then made a video of the incident and threatened to make it viral if the students filed a complaint against them. However, the video was released on Saturday after which the police arrested some people.
The arrested people includes Golu Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Raja Kumar, Rohit Kumar, Ganesh Kumar and Rahul Kumar, as per Town Police Station SHO, Trilok Kumar Mishra.
Golu Kumar — who was arrested on Thursday owns the water treatment plant, police said, adding that another six were caught on Saturday night.
Raids are being conducted to nab their accomplices involved in the case, they said. The condition of the victims who were admitted to the Sadar Hospital was stated to be stable.
