India is currently dealing with Coronavirus-led crises. Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh. West Bengal and few other states have contributed with the highest number of cases in the second wave. Owing to the surging cases the shootings of several TV shows and movies were halted. As the COVID-19 cases keep surging in Tamil Nadu, the Bigg Boss Malayalam 3 shootings have been reportedly halted. The shooting sets have also been reportedly sealed by officials.
According to the media reports, on Wednesday i.e May 19, Bigg Boss Malayalam set which is located at the EVP film city in Chembarambakkam, Chennai was sealed for shooting in the lockdown. The crew reportedly continued shooting even after new guidelines were issued amidst the second wave. It is being said around eight people tested positive for the Covid-19 and the decision to halt the shooting commenced after their results came out positive.
Apparently, the officials led by Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) from Thiruvallur, Preethi Parkavi, alongside a team of police vacated the areas of the set. All the contestants including cameramen, technicians and the crew were asked to leave immediately. “The shooting was going on despite there being a ban. Hence, we vacated them and sealed the premises as per guidelines of the government which prohibited such shooting during the pandemic,” said Parkavi according to a report by The Hindu.
For the unversed, the second season of Bigg Boss Malayalam was canceled owing to the pandemic. And the makers kick-started shooting for the third season somewhere around February. Recently, the channel aired a press note revealed about temporary suspension of the show because of the second wave.
