Bhojpuri actress rescued from prostitution racket in Hyderabad
A 24-year-old budding film actress from Mumbai was rescued. The high-profile prostitution racket was busted in Hyderabad on Saturday. 2 persons, including the organizer were arrested after cops raided a five-star hotel in Hyderabad on Saturday. According to Hyderabad police, those arrested were running a prostitution racket in Hyderabad. The police treated the actress as a victim and rescued her.
Two people were arrested in this connection, they said.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted raid at the hotel and arrested the brothel organiser along with a customer, who is a government employee, a release from police said.
The accused A Janardhan Rao is a “habitual brothel organiser” and has previously indulged in luring upcoming film actress from Mumbai into “flesh trade” in and around Hyderabad.The report added that the prostitution racket organisers booked a room in the posh hotel at Banjara Hills and allegedly brought the 24-year old actress on contract for a week with a promise of paying her Rs 1 lakh.
They rescued the film actress, who is a native of Agra, a report said.
The customer, Amit Mahendra Sharma (39), a resident of Sainikpuri and native of Gurgaon in Haryana, was also caught. Ambula Janardhan Rao’s associate B Prashant, booked the room number 518 in Radisson Blu Plaza at Banjara Hills on Friday.

Three mobile phones and Rs 40,000 have been seized from the accused.
“Rao, a native of Ramachandrapuram in East Godavari, is a brothel organiser and procures upcoming film actresses from Mumbai. He organises services at star hotels in and around Hyderabad. He was previously arrested by Banjara Hills, Panjagutta and Chandanagar police. They get film actresses from Mumbai on a weekly contract by paying Rs 1 lakh. Rao collects Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 from each customer,” DCP, Commissioner’s Task Force, P. Radha Krishna Rao told reporters after busting the prostitution racket.
The police also said that the hotel, Radisson Blu Plaza, was also under their scanner. They said that they had already served a notice to the management to look out for such activities, while also probing if the hotel played any role in the racket.

The organisers, Ambula Janardhan Rao, Jony and Banothu Prasanth allegedly collected between Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000 from each customer.
On Saturday, the police raided the hotel room after a tip-off. While Prasanth was absconding, the actress and a customer were present. The police treated the actress as victim and rescued her. Janardhan and customer, Amit Mahendra Sharma, were arrested.
