Comedian Bharti Singh and husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa have been sent to 14 days judicial custody by Mumbai’s Esplanade Court. Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a drug-related case.
Bharti and Haarsh‘s Mumbai home was searched on 21 November by the NCB. A small quantity of cannabis (around 86.5 grams)” was found from their home and the couple was taken to NCB headquarters for questioning. They accepted that they use narcotic substances during questioning.
Bharti was arrested on Saturday, her husband was placed under arrest on Sunday after being questioned for 12 hours. They were arrested in connection with the seizure of ganja from their residence.
Bharti and Haarsh along with two drug peddlers were produced at the Quilla Court by Narcotics Control Bureau. The other two peddlers have been sent to police custody. The husband-wife duo has been booked under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
As reported by sources to LIvemint, Bharti Singh and Haarsh have applied for their bail hearing in the drug case, which has been scheduled for tomorrow.
The anti-drugs bureau has been probing alleged drug use in the entertainment industry and Bollywood after the death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput in mid-June.
