In a shocking turn of events, iconic Bhajan singer Narendra Chanchal took his last breathe today in Apollo Hospital at 12:15 p.m. in Delhi, aged 76 due to age-related issues.
Sanjay Malik, who has been Narendra Chanchal’s concert organizer for the last 25 years, shared the news and told Indian Express, “His health hadn’t been well for some time now. He had been admitted to the Apollo Hospital for two months. He had fallen quite weak. He breathed his last today.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter handle to mourn the demise of the singer, “The news of the demise of popular hymn singer Narendra Chanchal ji is extremely sad. He made a mark in the world of singing hymns with his vibrant voice. My condolences to his family and fans in this hour of mourning. Om Shanti!,” he wrote in Hindi.

In 1973, Narendra got his big break when he sang a Bollywood song ‘Beshak Mandir Masjid’ for the film ‘Bobby’ and won Filmfare Best Male Playback Award.
