Beyonce becomes the first Black woman and fourth person to wear the legendary 128.54 carats Tiffany diamond.
Recently, American singer Beyoncé and her husband, Jay-Z shot for the luxury jewelry brand Tiffany & Co., and the pictures have taken over social media like a storm. Now, it has been reported that Beyonce is the first black woman and fourth person to wear the legendary 128.54 carats Tiffany diamond.
For the shoot, Beyoncé was seen donning a black halter Givenchy gown, while JAY-Z also wore Givenchy and looked absolutely crisp in the black suit with a bow tie.
Talking about the stone, according to the Independent report, the large yellow stone was first discovered in South Africa in the year 1877. The 287.42-carat rough diamond was bought by Charles Lewis Tiffany, founder of Tiffany & Co., in 1878. Not just that, Tiffany & Co also claims it is rather priceless for the rare diamond found more than 100 years ago. However, this is the first time the diamond featured in an advertising campaign.
The Tiffany diamond, since it was founded in 1877 has been worn only three times before Beyonce. Earlier, it was worn by the wife of American diplomat Edwin Sheldon Whitehouse- Mary Whitehouse, Hollywood icon Audrey Hepburn, and Lady Gaga.
The campaign is all set to launch on September 2 and will have an accompanying film with Beyoncé singing ‘Moon River’ from the popular song ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s.
