The Long Dark
The Long Dark focus on atmosphere and environmental survival game developed and published by Hinterland Studio. In the survival game, player assumes the role of a crash-landed bush pilot who needs to survive the frigid Canadian wilderness after a global disaster. The game received seed financing from the Canada Media Fund, and further funding was secured through a successful Kickstarter campaign in October 2013.
An alpha version of The Long Dark was released through Stream Early Access in September 2014. Later, the alpha version was launched on the Xbox One. Notably, it was one of the first two launch titles associated with Microsoft’s Game Preview Program in June 2015. Oxygen Not Included
Oxygen Not Included is no doubt one of the most challenging survival games on PC developed and published by Klei Entertainment. The video game was first released on Steam’s Early Access since February 2017 and later released on 30th July 2019.
The game was originally slated to leave early access on May 28, 2019 but was pushed back to July of 2019. Klei also announced plans to make downloadable content for the game. The lead designer of the game Johann Seidenz said that games like Dwarf Fortress, Prison Architect, and The Sims influenced the design of Oxygen Not Included.
In this survival game, you will have to manage your colonists hunger, happiness, cleanliness, and naturally their clean and breathable oxygen as they dig out caverns, gather resources, build machinery, and try to turn a harsh environment into a comfortable underground home.

Ark: Survival Evolved
Ark: Survival Evolved is an action survival video game developed by Studio Wildcard, in collaboration with Instinct Games, Efecto Studios, and Virtual Basement. Ark: Survival Evolved was released in August 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, OS X and Linux with versions for Android, iOS and Ninetendo Switch in the following year.
You have to survive being stranded on an island filled with roaming dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals, natural hazards, and potentially hostile human players. You are allowed to use firearms and improvised weapons to defend against hostile humans and creatures with the ability to build bases as defense on the ground and on some creatures. Notably, the game has both both single and multiplayer options.
The multiplayer option provides an option to form tribes of members in a server. The max number of tribe mates varies from each server.

Don’t Starve is an action-adventure survival game developed by the Canadian indie video game developer Klei Entertainment. The video game was initially released via Valve Corporation’s Steam software for Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux on 23rd April 2013. The video game was made available on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
An Android version of survival game was released on 20th October 2016. Downloadable content titled Reign of Giants was released on April 30, 2014, and a multiplayer expansion called Don’t Starve Together became free for existing users on June 3, 2015. On Steam, this game is able to be purchased with a free copy for a friend. A Nintendo Switch port released on April 12, 2018. The game’s Adventure mode adds depth to the sparse plot and pits Wilson against the game’s antagonist, Maxwell.

Green Hell
Green Hell is an Open World survival simulator developed by Creepy Jar. The game was released on 5 September 2019 after being in Early Access for nearly a year. It is currently only available to play on PC. There is no update as of yet if the game will be made available across other platforms.
The game pits the players in the unhospitable Amazonian Rainforest. There is no time to admire the picturesque setting though. It is a realistic survival game where players will need to survive not only the external stimuli like rain, animal attacks, wounds, diseases but also maintain their sanity to survive. Players will need to maintain their psychological and physical condition to survive and the two are directly co-related. Armed with only a radio, players will follow a voice to uncover what happened to them.

This War of Mine is a hauntingly poignant war survival game that focuses on the civilians rather than the front line combatants. The game was developed and published by the Polish game development company 11 bit studios. This War of Mine released for PC, OS X and Linux on November 14, 2014. In 2015, the game released on Android and iOS on July 14 and 15 respectively. This War of Mine: The Little Ones was an expansion pack released for PS4 and Xbox One in 2016. The game arrived on Nintendo Switch in November 2018.
The gameplay is unique compared to other war survival games as it focuses on civilians trying to survive in a war wrecked city. Instead of shooting down enemies, players are presented with issues such as lack of resources.
