Bangladesh rode on a decent bowling effort to win the third and final ODI against the West Indies to claim a series win in Sylhet on Friday.
The tourists could only muster 198/9 in their first innings largely due to a second successive hundred from Shai Hope and Bangladesh took just 38.3 overs to knock off the runs, with Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar scoring 81* and 80 each.
Batting first, the West Indies suffered their first loss when Christopher Hemraj was sent back in the fourth over by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who eventually turned out to be one of the architects of this dominating win.

He struck again after West Indies added 42 more runs to the total when he dismissed Darren Bravo for 10. Another 39 runs were added by Marlon Samuels and Hope before the latter fell-a dismissal that triggered a collapse.
Barring Hope, none of the Windies batsmen could offer any resistance to the tight bowling by the Bangladeshis. An example of the fact is this–no other batter crossed the 20-run mark barring Hope, who scored a century.
On the flip side of the story, it was Mehidy, who turned on the style for his side, scalping four wickets and conceding only 29 runs in West Indies’ meagre effort. Shakib Al-Hasan and Mashrafe Mortaza took two wickets each while Mohammad Saifuddin had one dismissal to his name.
Chasing the low total, Bangladesh lost Liton Das to Keemo Paul but a 131-run stand between Iqbal and Sarkar sealed the deal for them with 69 balls to spare.
Brief scores: Bangladesh 202 for 2 (Tamim 81*, Soumya 80) beat West Indies 198 for 9 (Hope 108*, Mehidy 4-29) by eight wickets.
