Mehidy Hasan Miraz starred with the ball as Bangladesh claimed a historic Test series victory against the West Indies on Sunday.
The off-spinner had created a lot of problems for the Windies as he ended with seven wickets in the first innings. He then returned to spin a web in the second innings once again and this time, his five-wicket haul fetched him a total of 12 scalps in the match, conceding just 117 runs.
His performance was one of the main reasons why Bangladesh could record the innings and 184-run victory–which is their largest ever winning margin in a Test match.

As a matter of fact, Bangladesh has dominated in this match right from the get-go with the spinners doing it all for their team. All 40m wickets to fall in the match were dismissals to spin bowling.
Following on after being shot out for a meagre 111 in response to Bangladesh’s mammoth 508, the Windies didn’t show any signs of improvement as they found themselves to be reduced to 85/5 at one stage. Barring Shimron Hetmyer who showed resistance and battled hard for 93 off 92 balls, no other batter could create an impact with the next best score coming from the bat of Kemar Roach.
Mehidy was the wrecker-in-chief with 5/59 while Taijul Islam snared three.
