It’s been a year since Irrfan Khan left the world and his family is still coping up with his loss. The actor passed away last year after battling a two-year fight with a neuroendocrine tumor. Today, on his death anniversary, his son Babil Khan revealed what his father told him in his final days in the hospital.
In an interview with Film Companion, Babil said, “I was there in the hospital, two-three days before he died. He was losing consciousness and one of the last things he said…he just looked at me, smiled and said ‘I am going to die’ and I told him ‘No you are not’. He then smiled again and went back to sleep.”
Irrfan Khan was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on 28 April 2020, where he started receiving treatment for a colon infection. He died the following day from the infection. The actor was buried at the Versova Kabristan in Mumbai and his last rites were performed by his two sons Babil and Ayan.
