On Irrfan’s first death anniversary, Babil revealed that he was depressed and had suicidal thoughts after the actor’s demise last year. In an interview with the Times of India, he said when his father passed away, his mother-Sutapa was surprised at how well he was taking it. But after two days of Irrfan Khan’s demise, he crashed.
Irrfan died on April 29 last year. He was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on 28 April 2020, where he started receiving treatment for a colon infection. He died the following day from the infection. His mother Saeeda Begum, aged 93, had died just four days prior in Jaipur. Khan was buried at the Versova Kabristan in Mumbai and his last rites were performed by his sons.
Soon, Babil Khan is going to make his debut with the Netflix film ‘Qala’ opposite Triptii Dimri. The project is helmed by director Anvitaa Dutt and produced by actor Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Sharma’s production house Clean Slate Filmz.
