Ayushmann Khurrana on Tanushree-Nana controversy: Important to be fair on both sides

After Tanushree Dutta revealed about the misbehaviour of Nana Patekar on the sets of the film ‘Horn Ok Pleasss’, many Bollywood stars have supported her. Likewise, veteran actor Ayushmann Khurrana also today raised his voice in support to the ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ actress.

Reacting to the question asked by journalists over trolling Tanushree, Ayushmann Khurrana said, “I think people who are trolling her should be blocked and banned from Twitter. They should show some empathy.”

“At the same time, an equal opportunity should be given to both the sides to justify themselves. It doesn’t matter whether she’s taken time or not. Whatever was wrong was wrong and there’s no time limit to it. Whether you want to come out in the open, it’s your prerogative. Let’s just be fair to both the sides, that’s more important,” he added.

On being asked about stars evading the questions on Tanushree Dutta, he said, “I don’t know. Sometimes you just want to be apolitical. It’s a tricky situation.” “It’s high time everyone spoke about it. In this day and age, you should definitely do so as in urban cities, we talk about pay parity and gender equality. Rural India, however, is still lagging behind,” Ayushmann concluded.

Tanushree Dutta recently revealed that Nana Patekar misbehaved with her on the sets of the film ‘Horn Ok Pleasss’. She had accused Patekar of harassing her while shooting for a special dance number in the movie, and also accused the choreographer Ganesh Acharya of teaming up with the veteran actor, against her. Tanushree further claimed that she and her family were attacked by a mob after she refused to perform the intimate step and walked out of the sets.

After the series of revealation on Nana Patekar, many Bollywood celebrities including Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Swara Bhaskar, Shilpa Shetty, Kalki Koechlin and many others have voiced their support for Tanushree.

Meanwhile, Patekar’s lawyer reportedly sent a legal notice to Dutta, demanding a written apology from her for ruining the veteran actor’s image. However, Tanushree said that she hasn’t received any notice from Patekar and that he should stop giving empty threats.
