Avengers Endgame Deleted Scenes & Trailer Shot Missing Or Changed For The Movie

Despite having run time of more than 3 hour, makers of Avengers Endgame still have several deleted scenes which were filmed but not shown in the theater. According to reports, makers still have several minutes of Avengers Endgame deleted scenes which was shown in the trailer but was changed or missing from the final cut.

According to Russo brother, they have shot some scene for the trailer only and others shots were edited with CGI to conceal certain details – notably to remove evidence of time travel, or to hide the changes made to Thor and the Hulk. We may not able to see the deleted scenes of Avengers Endgame as they have not yet uploaded the shot on their YouTube channel on any social media accounts.

“We wrote and shot an even longer battle with its own three-act structure,” Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely candidly reveal during an interview with the NY Times.

The final battle which took place between Thanos and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes also took a breather midway through in an earlier version of the script, but there were one or many reasons why Endgame’s 45-minute scrap didn’t go well into the hour mark and beyond.

“It didn’t play well,” admits McFeely, “We had a scene in a trench where, for reasons, the battle got paused for about three minutes and now there’s 18 people all going, ‘What are we going to do?’ ‘I’m going to do this.’ ‘I’m going to do this.’”

Here are key scenes of Avengers Endgame which were shown in trailer but did not appear in the film

1. Tony Stark’s Muscle

Avengers: Endgame begins with Iron Man trapped in malnourished condition and it was quite evident when he lands on the earth when Stark pulled himself up out of a medical chair and detached his IV drip. But, if you look at the trailer, Tony Stark’s muscle looks normal. The reason is probably far simpler; that the trailer was released in December, while the film was still going through post-production, meaning that Marvel hadn’t complete the VFX for Tony’s skinny body.

2. Thor With Storm Breaker

If you have watched the trailer, you must have noticed that Thor wielding Storm breaker, lightning flaring around him. However, it was nowhere to be seen in the film.

3. Bruce Banner Mourns The Snap Victim

The trailer of Avengers Endgame had shown us Bruce Banner looked at the image of fallen and resting head in his hands. If we talk about the film, the film does include scenes in which the Avengers glance at the screens, this particular shot was not shown in the movie.

4. Black Widow’s Chair

The first trailer of the film ended on a happy note with Scott Lang arrive at the Avengers compound. Steve Rogers and Black Widow were at the Compound at the time; they’d believed Ant-Man died in the snap, and were understandably shocked when came back. In the film they have made a single change in which they altered Black Widow’s hairstyle in order to hide the time jump.

5. Rocket And The Hulk

In the film we have seen Rocket and Hulk arriving Asgard to persuade Thor to join the battle against, Thanos. The trailers included a single shot from this part of the film; a dark and indistinct glimpse of Rocket entering Thor’s hut. In the actual film, though, he’s not alone; the Hulk is in this shot as well. Marvel had beautifully edited the scene in order to hide the Professor Hulk twist.

6. Black Widow in Japan

In the trailer we have seen Black Widow seating in Japan, who is apparently grieving and alone. Although both Black Widow and Hawkeye did have scenes in Japan – in the rain no less – this shot has been excluded from the film.

7. Captain America and Tony Stark Meet in New York

In the trailer, we saw Tony Stark asking Steve Rogers whether he trusted him or not and then they both shack hands. It was a beautiful moment that provided an end to the conflict between the two that’s been running since Captain America: Civil War — but it had actually been digitally altered, with Cap’s 2012 costume replaced with a more modern version. Again, this was to remove evidence of time travel.
