Marvels much-awaited film ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ is on a roll ever since its release all over the globe. The movie has been making new records at the box-office in India after it hit the theaters on April 26, 2019. The superhero saga has made Rs 100 crore in two days of its release in India. The record for the highest opening weekend for a Hollywood film in India is currently held by ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (Rs. 94.30 crores).
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news tweeted,
He wrote that the Marvel film opened to Rs 53 crore on Friday, and added Rs 51 crore on day two, for a total of Rs 104.5 crore. He also pointed out that the film’s theatre count (2800 screens) is a fraction of what the biggest Hindi films are released in. The film registered the second biggest opening of all time in India, after ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’s Rs 121 crore debut, and just ahead of Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan, which still holds the record for the biggest single day in Hindi film history, with Rs 52.25 crore.
The Marvel Comics superhero film has also broken the highest opening weekend globally with $644 million at the end of Friday. The previous record holder was ‘Infinity War’ with $641 million.
‘Avengers: Endgame’ has been directed by the Russo brothers – Joe and Anthony and features an ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr, Brie Larson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Scarlett Johansson, among others.
