Yet another incident of suicide emerged from Bihar, but this time an Australian man was found hanging from a tree inside a well-known forest in Bihar’s Bodh Gaya district. The incident is said to have taken place at one of the most famous Buddhist pilgrimage sites and an international tourists destination.
The police have recovered a suicide note, mentioning a mobile number. The note requests that his sister be informed about his death. The deceased identified as Allan — a resident of Westmead, a suburb of Sydney, police said.
The body of Allan was noticed by some locals, who were passing by the forest on Saturday morning. They were amazed to find a man hanging from a tree. They immediately informed the police.
The police claimed to have found a bag, a diary and water bottle near his body.
The body of Allan has been sent to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital, Gaya, for post-mortem, an officer said.
