Asian Games 2018: India assured of two silver medals in Compound Archery
India was assured of two more medals at the 18th Asian Games after the men’s and women’s compound archery team progressed into the final on Sunday.
The men’s team who won the gold last year overcame Chinese Taipei 230-227 in the semi-final to once again set up a summit clash meet against South Korea, the same team they had defeated last year to win the gold.

The trio of Abhishek Verma, Aman Saini, and Rajat Chauhan starred as India won the four-set encounter 57-57, 56-57, 55-58, 59-58 and will meet Korea in a repeat telecast of 2014. Enroute to the final they had beaten Qatar (227-213) and Philippines (227-226).
Meanwhile, the Indian women’s team who had returned with a bronze in 2014, took a step forward to assure themselves of a silver, they too like their male counterparts beat Chinese Taipei 225-222 and seal the final berth.
It was Chinese Taipei, however, who had begun well winning the first two games 55-58 and 55-57 before the Indian ladies bounced back and pocketed the next two 57-55, 58-52 to turn around the match in their favour, ultimately sealing a victory.

They had earlier defeated the hosts Indonesia 229-224 in the quarter-finals.
