Asaram’s son Narayan Sai gets life imprisonment on rape charges
Narayan Sai has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a court in Gujarat.
Self-proclaimed godman Asaram Bapu’s son Narayan Sai has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a court in Gujarat. He is found guilty and charged under Indian Penal Code sections 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural offences), 323 (assault), 506-2 (criminal intimidation) and 120-B (conspiracy). For the unversed, Narayan Sai and his father was accused of sexual assault by Surat-based female devotees.
The victims claimed in their complaint that they were raped by Asaram and his son Narayan. The elder sister accused Asaram of raping her at his ashram in Ahmedabad in between 1997 and 2006, while the younger sister said in her complaint that Narayan Sai raped her in Surat ashram between 2002 and 2005. The police arrested Narayan Sai in 2013 from Pipli, Haryana.
As per a report in the Times of India, the court also fined Narayan Swamy with Rs 1 lakh. Also, his three associates, Ganga, Jamuna, and Hanuman got ten years of imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 10,000. Also, Ramesh Malhotra, another accused in the case got six months of jail term. The court also said that one of the sisters is liable to get a compensation of Rs 5 lakh.
Narayan’s father, Asaram is currently in the Jodhpur central jail serving life imprisonment for raping a minor girl in Jodhpur. Now it’s the turn of his son.
