Asaduddin Owaisi — President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen — is ahead with a massive margin of 47,000 votes against BJP candidate Bhagavanth Rao. Asaduddin Owaisi has taken a comfortable lead and likely to be elected as Member of Parliament once again.
Notably, Lok Sabha Election 2019 marks the first time when people’s of Hyderabad have exchanged their basic rights of voting as a capital city of the newly formed state, Telangana.
The voting percentage in Hyderabad this year was 44.75 per cent. Yes, it was quite lower than they had earlier voted as part of Andhra Pradesh. In the wake of Lok Sabha 2019 Election result, Section 144 has been declared in Hyderabad, which has also been declared as the public holiday. Till 9:50 am, Owaisi secured 51,699 votes (49.57 per cent) while his rival candidate Rao got 36,534 votes. Congress candidate M Feroz Khan, who fought against Owaisi is reported to have secured 5,664 votes.
If he wins this Lok Sabha election, this would be Owaisi’s fourth consecutive win after 2004, 2009 and 2014.
Talking about Telangana Lok Sabha Elections, TRS in the state are currently leading on 11 of 17 seats. The TRS candidate BB Patil is reportedly ahead in Zaheerabad by 680 votes over his Congress nominee Madan Mohan, reported Business Standard.
