Hours after the journalist-turned-politician Ashutosh announced that he is leaving the party, Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal stated that he will not accept the resignation of the leader. The Delhi Chief Minister took to Twitter and said that he will not accept his resignation, at least not in this lifetime.

He wrote: “How can we ever accept your resignation? Not in this lifetime”, which was followed by another tweet. It stated, “. सर, हम सब आपको बहुत प्यार करते हैं। (Ashutosh sir, we love you very much).”

Earlier in the morning, Ashutosh took to Twitter and wrote that he will be leaving the party and have cited personal reasons for it. He wrote: “Every journey has an end. My association with AAP which was beautiful/revolutionary has also an end. I have resigned from the PARTY/requested PAC to accept the same. It is purely from a very very personal reason. Thanks to party/all of them who supported me Throughout. Thanks.” It was followed by another tweet, which said, “To media friends. Please respect my privacy. I won’t be giving any bite of any kind. Please cooperate.”

Though party leaders like Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and Delhi convener Gopal Rai are talking with Ashutosh, it is uncertain what step he (Ashutosh) will take next.
