A day after human trafficking racket was busted by Delhi Police, a photograph of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with prime accused of human trafficking Prabha Muni surfaced.
The photo has triggered a fresh controversy across the nation as Arvind Kejriwal can be seen sitting beside the accused Prabha Muni — allegedly operated an NGO in Jharkhand along with her husband Rohit Muni. Their main modus-operandi was by luring minors with false promises of jobs and sell them off.
The photograph went viral on social media just a day after Prabha Muni was arrested on September 25, who had been on the run for over five years. The prime accused was carrying an award of Rs 25,000 on her head. Police also claimed the couple have been active for more than a decade. A case was registered against them in 2013, since then they were absconding.
“They set up their own placement agency and lured girls from the tribal belt with the promise of jobs, only to set them up in several households with below minimum wages and not transferring the money to their parents,” a police officer told Indian Express.
The police are yet to ascertain as to how many girls have been thrown into the human trafficking ring by Prabha, who went absconding in 2013. She is currently under the custody of Jharkhand Police, who were given her transit remand.
