#ArrestYuvikaChaudhary Trends, Actress Apologizes For Using Casteist Slur

After Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah‘s Munmun Dutta was booked for allegedly using a casteist slur. Now, Bigg Boss 9 contestant Yuvika Chaudhary has also landed in trouble for the same which created an uproar and netizens started trending #ArrestYuvikaChaudhary soon after.

In the viral video, Yuvika can be seen filming with her actor-husband Prince Narula as he gets a haircut done.  Filming herself in the mirror, Yuvika said that always whenever she vlogs she always looks like a bhangi.  Later, Twitterati expressed outrage when Munmun used the offensive term.

For the uninitiated, the term used by the actress was to denote members of a Dalit caste employed in sanitation in the 19th century. Members of this caste have traditionally been restricted to sweeping, cleaning toilets, and handling dead bodies.

Soon after, Yuvika issued an apology and said that she did not know the meaning of the word. “Hi guys I didn’t kw the meaning about that word wt I used in my last vlog I didn’t mean to hurt anyone and I can never do that to hurt someone I apologise to each n every one I hope you understand love you all,” she tweeted.
