Republic Media Network’s Editor in Chief Arnab Goswami has posted a video following the physical attack was unleashed on him and his wife by two goons on Thursday, April 23, 2020. The physical attack on Arnab Goswami comes hours after he accused Congress leader Sonia Gandhi of orchestrating the Palghar lynching.
Three people including two Sadhus, who were on their way to Silvassa on April 16, were lynched by local residents in Gadakchinchale village of Palghar district on the suspicion that they were thieves.
Arnab Goswami took to Twitter and shared a video in which he alleged that he was attacked by Youth Congress workers when he and his wife was on his way back from his studio in Mumbai. According to reports, the attack took place almost 500 metres away from his house as he was driving back following his show, with his wife and Republic TV Editor Samyabrata Ray Goswami in their Toyota Corolla.
In the video, Arnab Goswami said that the two men constantly followed him and drove parallel to his car, and at one instance they parked their bike in front of his car, in order to stop the vehicle, post-which one of them reached the window, pointed out at Arnab and constantly tried to break open the window by banging on it. Further, he also said that they threw some form on liquid over the car and then escaped.
Arnab and his wife escaped unhurt, and soon after the two men were caught by Arnab’s security team. When they were investigated, they confessed to being members of the Youth Congress and were sent by their higher officials to attack Arnab.
In the video, Arnab called Sonia Gandhi as the ‘biggest coward of India’ claiming that she had asked her party members to attack him.
