Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Thursday sent out a strong message to Pakistan. He said that the Centre has to take a decision as regards what to do in PoK, stressing that Army is ready for any scenario.
This statement came days after Union minister Jitendra Singh said the Narendra Modi government now intends to retrieve parts of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and make them a part of India.
The Army Chief said, “The government takes action in such matters. Institutions of the country will work as per the orders of the government. The Army is always ready.”
The General further asked the people of Jammu and Kashmir to help the Army in maintaining peace and security in the region. They should give one chance to the government to bring peace and development in the region.As the government was doing it for their future and betterment.
On Tuesday, Union minister Jitendra Singh had said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre is now aiming to retrieve parts of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and make them a part of India.
The Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday had hit out at Pakistan for gross human rights violations in PoK. He had further added that if any talks in the terror-free atmosphere with Pakistan will be held that will be on PoK.
On Sunday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh too had said the same thing that from now on, India will hold talks only regarding Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
