Arjun Tendulkar, who recently made his debut for India U-19 in their tour of Sri Lanka, on Friday turned groundsman helping the staff at the Lord’s cricket ground at a rain-swept India-England match.
The persistent rain had wiped out an entire day of Test cricket at Lord’s for the first time since 2001. And although play started on Friday, it had to be stopped twice, with just right and a half overs bowled.
Arjun who spends most of his time in London honing his cricketing skills could be seen helping out the ground staff after the rain had interrupted play for the second time.

The official Twitter account of Lord’s also posted a picture of the young fast-bowler and wrote: “Not only has he been Atraining with @MCCYC4L recently & but he has also been lending a helping hand to our groundstaff.!”
The 18-year-old took a wicket in his debut over in the first Youth Test against Sri Lanka but failed to make any substantial contribution both the with ball and bat, even scoring a duck in the first innings. As a result, he was left out of the U-19 ODI team for the One-Day series against Sri Lanka U-19.

Meanwhile, in the Lord’s Test India are struggling at 15/3 with their entire top-order dismissed.
Joe Root had won the toss and invited India to bat. Then Anderson sent both the openers back inside five overs – First setting-up Murali Vijay with four consecutive outswingers on the off, before uprooting his off-stump with a peach of delivery. KL Rahul was the next man to depart after poking another Anderson delivery into wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow’s hands.
Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli then steadied the ship, overlooking the fiery spell from Anderson before rain interrupted play. But on return, Pujara was run-out in a ridiculous fashion after a horrendous mix-up with Kohli.
