Earlier there were several reports claiming that Ludo will be released in January but now it has been confirmed that Fatima Sana Shaikh, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanya Malhotra and Pankaj Tripathi starrer Ludo will hit the theatres on April 24, 2020.
Speaking about the reports stating that Ludo was a sequel to Life in a Metro, Anurag Basu had earlier said, “It has multiple plots, but it is not a sequel to Life In A… Metro. The genre and story are totally different and fresh. We have yet to decide the title and will figure the release date only after we wrap up the film. It features Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rajkummar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead.”
According to reports, Vidya Balan will have a cameo in Ludo. “Vidya Balan will have a special role in the drama. It’s more like a cameo. But it’s not yet known what she will be playing or whose story she might be a part of. Apart from these, the makers also wanted an actor to be the narrator for all the stories and then their unison. So it can be that, too, but the makers are currently tight-lipped about everything,” a source quoted as saying to India Today.
Anurag’s last film was Jagga Jasoos that featured Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. The film did not managed to make a good money at the box office. The film opened to mixed reviews and had a hit music album.
