Hollywood superstar Antonio Banderas has joined Spider-Man actor Tom Holland for his next. The veteran actor who is currently busy with his Spanish film Competencia Oficial alongside Penelope Cruz will be seen in Sony’s Unchartered adaptation. Banderas who is basking in the glory of his first nomination will be playing a pivotal role in the movie.
As reported by sources to Variety, Uncharted that is being directed by Ruben Fleischer of Venom fame also has powerhouse performer Mark Wahlberg playing a crucial role. Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle have also boarded the film.
The story of the film is all about Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter who journeys across the world to uncover various historical mysteries. It is still not known what roles will Banderas, Ali, and Gabrielle will be playing in the film.
The movie is being produced by Charles Roven and Alex Gartner for Atlas Entertainment and Avi Arad and Ari Arad for Arad Productions, while Playstation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan will serve as executive producers.
‘Uncharted’ is set to release in theaters March 5, 2021.
On the work front, Antonio Banderas is known for his roles in films like Desperado, Pain and Glory and The Skin I Live In. Banderas most recently received widespread acclaim for his role in Pedro Almodovar’s “Pain and Glory.” His other recent credits include Steven Soderbergh’s “The Laundromat” and Terrence Malick’s “Knight of Cups.”
