Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Vaze was suspended from the police service on Monday. Police officer Sachin Waze placed under suspension by an order of Addl CP Special Branch Mumbai. Vaze was arrested by NIA in connection with its investigation into the recovery of explosives from a car parked near Mukesh Ambani’s house in Mumbai. On March 14 a Mumbai court remanded him to the NIA’s custody till March 25.
Sachin Vaze has been arrested under Sections 286 (Negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance), 465 (Punishment for forgery), 473 (Making or possessing counterfeit seal), 506(2) (criminal intimidation), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code and 4(a)(b)(I)(attempt to cause an explosion) of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908.
The NIA, probing the Antilia bomb scare case is investigating whether Vaze was present near RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani’s residence, where the Scorpio car loaded with explosives was abandoned.
Sachin Vaze is also being questioned for his alleged role in the death of Mansukh Hiren. The one whose Scorpio was found outside Antilia. Hiren was later found dead in Thane on March 5.
