Festivals this year are all set to be lacklustre due to the coronavirus pandemic. Yes, the year 2020 has been tumultuous all thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. It has caused the loss of life and economic instability. Bollywood too has faced the loss of near ones and economic loss. Therefore the Diwali parties will be scaling it down this year. Big B and Ekta Kapoor is known to host Diwali party will not be doing so this year on account of Rishi Kapoor’s demise.
As reported by sources to Mumbai Mirror, Amitabh Bachchan and Ekta Kapoor, have cancelled their plans of Diwali bash this year. As per the report, the Bachchan’s lost Ritu Nanda (Rishi Kapoor’s sister and Shweta Bachchan’s mother-in-law) earlier this year in January. Whereas, Rishi Kapoor passed away in April 2020. Rishi Kapoor is Shweta Bachchan’s uncle through marriage with Nikhil Nanda. Ekta Kapoor too considers the late actor as family.
Due to the demise of Ritu Nanda and Rishi Kapoor the Bachchan’s have decided not to host a Diwali Bash this year.
Ekta Kapoor whose Diwali bashes are most-awaited and is attended by the who’s who of the television industry. She too has no plan to throw a grand Diwali party given the current situation.
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan is busy with Kaun Banega Crorepati. He also has Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Nagarjuna in his kitty.
