Home Minister Amit Shah is all set to introduce a J&K reservation bill tomorrow.
As reported by ANI, Home Minister Amit Shah is all set to introduce the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2019 in Rajya Sabha tomorrow. This Bill is to implement 10% Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota in Jammu and Kashmir. The bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on July 1, 2019.
The Union Cabinet had approved the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2019. It had paved the way to extend the 10 per cent reservation for poor in educational institutes and government offices in the state.
This EWS quota is over and above the reservation cap of 50 per cent. Those with an annual income of less than Rs 8 lakh are categorised as economically weaker.
Meanwhile, A meeting is underway between Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, at Parliament.
This bill if passed will provide 10%quoto to the Economically Weaker section.
