Wrapping up his two-day tour in Agra on Thursday, Bharatiya Janata Party Amit Shah targeted Congress party and blamed family politics that not only led to the slow development of country, but also made the people poor. He also pointed fingers at the Congress alleging that the leaders do not have faith in Army, judiciary, parliament or constitutional establishments, but it wants only power.

Addressing the think tank in UP, Shah said, “Congress party do not have faith in Army, judiciary, parliament or constitutional establishments, but it wants only power.” Not only Congress, he also targetted Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party of caste-based politics in state. He was of the opinion that people in Uttar Pradesh will not vote for a party which favours caste and family over development of common people.

The BJP president claimed that even if SP, BSP and Congress make a coalition in the state, they would not be able to defeat BJP. He said, “Even if SP, BSP and Congress make a coalition in the UP, then also BJP will secure 73 to 74 seats in Lok Sabha elections. The people of this state will not support those who priortise their bungalow over issues of caste, family and poor’s hut.”

Blaming the Congress government for corruption and underdevelopment of the country, Shah said that prior to 2014, there was a time when the country witnessed a corruption of Rs 12 lakh crore and ‘every single minister thought herself/himself as Prime Minister, but nobody thought Prime Minister as Prime Minister’. He was of the opinion that it is due to the fear factor of BJP and Narendra Modi, that all the opposition parties have united.

Pointing out the achievements of Modi government, Shah said, “Even after 70 years of independence, over 19,000 villages were not connected with electricity. Within 4 years Modi government has made the reach of electricity possible in these villages.” Shah gave the credit to people of UP and stated that was due to the people of state that the government of Narendra Modi was formed.

Prior to visiting UP, Shah had addressed similar meeting and think tank in states like West Bengal, Odisha and Kerala. He would be visiting Tamil Nadu on July 9. As per his busy schedule, the meticulous planner will cover all the states, barring North-East by July 22, in which he will not only take a stock at party’s preparations for the upcoming polls, but will strengthen his ‘Lok Sabha Toli’.
