‘Ram Setu’ to be co-produced by Amazon Prime Video, becomes first Bollywood film
Akshay Kumar's 'Ram Setu' becomes the first Bollywood film to be co-produced by Amazon Prime Video.
In 2019, during Diwali, Akshay Kumar announced his upcoming movie titled ‘Ram Setu.’ The film also stars actresses Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha. On Wednesday, the OTT giants Amazon Prime Video announced that it will be co-producing the film.
The announcement was made by Amazon Prime, “so excited to announce our first co-production – #RamSetu – a film which is a bridge between generations past, present and future! 💕Looking forward to bringing this story to y’all with an exemplary cast and dream team! @akshaykumar @Asli_Jacqueline @Nushrratt @Abundantia_En,” they tweeted.

Talking about the film, Akshay said that the story of Ram Setu has always intrigued and inspired him and it represents strength, bravery and love, and uniquely Indian values that have formed the moral and social fabric of India. It is a bridge between generations past, present, and future. He said that he is looking forward to telling the story of a significant part of Indian heritage, especially for the youth, and is also happy that, with Amazon Prime Video, the story will cut across geographies and strike a chord with viewers across the world.
Reportedly, the film will be shot at multiple locations while 80 percent of it will be based in Mumbai. Soon, Akshay will be heading to Ayodhya for the mahurat shot of his film. The action-adventure is co-produced by Kumar’s Cape of Good Films, Abundantia Entertainment and Lyca Productions and directed by Abhishek Sharma.
‘Ram Setu’ is slated to release in the theatres.
