AAP MLA Alka Lamba Says She Will Join Congress If Party Accepts Her
Will join Congress if party accepts me back says Chandni Chow AAP MLA Alka Lamba
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) incumbent MLA from Delhi’s Chandni Chowk, Alka Lamba is likely to join Congress party back. Yes, Alka Lamba was an NSUI member in 1900s and elected as the Delhi University Student’s Union president in 1995, which is said be student union of Congress party. Lamba went on to join the grand old party and was made the General Secretary of All India Mahila Congress in the year 2002.
Talking to Indian Express, Lamba said that she does not have any hesitation in joining the party if they accept her back. She said that AAP has completely exposed its weaknesses by begging Congress for an alliance, not just in Delhi but also in Punjab and Haryana. It is to be noted that Alka Lamba joined the Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP party in 2013.
“It is clear that AAP wants an alliance with the Congress to beat BJP. I have always been opposed to the ideology of BJP. I joined AAP because I thought it was the party most capable of keeping the BJP out of power. The situation today is clear. The Congress has seen a revival, especially in the Chandni Chowk and North East Delhi parliamentary constituencies. If the AAP wants to align with Congress, My joining Congress cannot be the wrong decision,” she told Indian Express.
There were reports doing the rounds that she has met with some senior leaders belonging to Congress party but she refused to have met anyone. When she was asked about the same she told the daily, “So far, I have not reached out to anyone in the Congress, neither has the party reached out to me.”
