Alicia Silverstone has stated that she would like to have another chance at donning the Batgirl costume. Speaking to Collider on the release of her new film, Bad Therapy, Alicia Silverstone was asked about her experiences on the set of Batman and Robin.
“I cherished every one of my scenes with [Alfred actor] Michael Gough. Michael Gough is a fantasy and I simply love that man to such an extent. Along these lines, you realize simply being with him was so staggering and exquisite,” Silverstone said. “I’m attempting to think what else I’d be pleased with. That is to say, I like it when I get the opportunity to do the battling scenes with Uma Thurman. That is entertaining. However, I’d prefer to do it once more as this lady! I figure it would be vastly improved at this point.”
Batman and Robin did not do well at the time of release. While it had a strong star cast in George Clooney, Uma Thurman, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, the film was critically panned for its cheesy one-liners and a bad script. Alicia Silverstone even ended up winning the Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Batgirl.
Though the Batman and Robin movie was to have a sequel, with Silverstone playing Batgirl, the idea was panned after the poor reception. Moreover, there were also talks about a solo Batgirl movie with Joss Whedon at the helm. However, Whedon dropped out of the project and not many details are known about the project.
