Raksha Bandhan: Akshay Kumar to kick start shooting from April
According to the latest reports, Akshay Kumar to begin shooting for Anand L Rai's film, 'Raksha Bandhan' from April onwards.
In August 2020, Akshay Kumar announced that he will star in Aanand L Rai’s upcoming directorial ‘Raksha Bandhan.’ The film revolves around the brother-sister bond. This will mark the director’s second outing with Akshay after their yet-to-be-released romantic-drama ‘Atrangi Re.’

Now, according to the recent media reports, he will kick start the shooting from mid-April onwards. The ‘Welcome’ actor has assigned his dates to Aanand L Rai for ‘Raksha Bandhan’ and he will be shooting for 40 to 45 days and it is set in the heartland of India. In the film, the actor is all set to essay the role of a caring elder brother to three sisters. The film will ride on the emotion that every Indian can relate to, reported Pinkvilla.
Recently, there were rumors that the film has been put on hold, however, none of this seems to be true as it is very much on schedule. It was announced that the film is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on November 5, 2021. The report further states that it is of Diwali release. However, the release date may change as it is dependent on the release of Akshay’s other films.
‘Raksha Bandhan’ is co-produced by Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Films and Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films.
On the work front, Akshay is currently awaiting the release of ‘Sooryavanshi.’ He also has ‘Bell Bottom’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Atrangi Re.’
