Ram Setu: Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez & Nushrratt Bharuccha head to Ayodhya

On Thursday, Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Nushrratt Bharuccha have jetted off to Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh today for the mahurat shot of the upcoming film, ‘Ram Setu.’ They were clicked by the paparazzi at a private airport in Kalina, Mumbai.

Akshay shared a picture with the film’s leading ladies Jacqueline and Nushrrat. He captioned the post as: “A special film, a special start…Team #RamSetu off to Ayodhya for the mahurat shot. And so the journey begins. Need special wishes from all you guys 🙏🏻 @Asli_Jacqueline @Nushrratt #AbhishekSharma #CapeOfGoodFilms @Abundantia_Ent”

In the film, Akshay will essay the role of an archeologist, while, Jacqueline and Nushrratt will play strong, independent women with well-etched-out parts. The details of their role are yet to be disclosed.

It was in November 2020 that Akshay announced the film with a new poster. On Wednesday, Amazon Prime Video India announced that the streaming giant will be co-producing the film. It will be produced by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and directed by Abhishek Sharma, Abundantia Entertainment, Lyca Productions and Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films are backing the film.

The film will be shot at multiple locations while 80 percent of it will be based in Mumbai. ‘Ram Setu’ will be released in the theatres and later will also stream on Amazon Prime Videos.
