For the first time ever, Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi will be collaborating on-screen. Reportedly, they are all set to join hands for the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film ‘Driving License’ with Dharma Productions for Raj Mehta’s directorial.
According to a report by News18, “This is the first time the two actors are going to work together. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film Driving License which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles. While Akshay steps into the shoes of Prithviraj and plays a superstar/ Emraan will reprise the role of a traffic inspector who is also a diehard fan of the superstar which was originally portrayed by Suraj.”
Further, the report states that the shooting for the film is expected to start early next year. Currently, Raj Mehta is completing the shoot of his upcoming family drama, ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ which features Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani, and Neetu Kapoor. “There is one song for which the unit will be traveling to Russia after which the film will move into the post-production stage,” said the source.
Akshay and Raj Mehta have already worked together for the 2019 film, ‘Good Newwz’ which also starred Kiara Advani, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead roles. For Hashmi, this will be his second collaboration with Dharma Productions after the 2014 film, ‘Ungli.’
