Ajay Devgn deeply touched & humbled by PM Narendra Modi's thoughtful gesture
Bollywood’s Singham actor Ajay Devgn lost his father Veeru Devgan, one of the most celebrated actions and stunts directors in Bollywood. He was admitted at Surya Hospital in Santacruz and his last rites were held at Vile Parle crematorium. Today the actor took to Twitter to thank PM Narendra Modi for his thoughtful gesture of condolence to the Devgn family.
Devgn wrote, “My Mother & entire Devgan family are deeply touched & humbled in silence by this thoughtful gesture from our Honourable Prime Minister @narendramodi. Thank you Sir.”

Veeru Devgn was a well-respected man in Bollywood. He had choreographed action scenes in more than 80 films. The father of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn, Veeru also directed a film with Ajay in the lead, Hindustan Ki Kasam. His other son Anil Devgan is a director. His demise has left a void in Bollywood.
Right after Veeru’s death, many celebrities thronged the Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil and Bobby Deol were the first ones to reach his place. This was followed by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Rani Mukerji and more.
Many celebrities also took to social media to pay their respect for the late stunt-director.
Veeru Devgan was unwell for quite some time. He is survived by wife Veena Devgn, two sons – Ajay and Anil Devgn and two daughters – Kavita and Neelam Devgn.
