Bollywood’s Singham Ajay Devgn and Producer Dil Raju are collaborating for the Hindi remake of the Telugu film Naandhi. Devgn and Raju have acquired the rights to the 2021 crime courtroom drama. The Telugu version was directed by debutant Vijay Kanakamedala and produced by Satish Vegesna.
Ajay Devgn took to social media to share the news with his fans. “Time to share an important story with all! @DilRajuProdctns and @ADFFilms are all set to produce the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit, Naandhi! @SVC_official @Meena_Iyer @kuldeeprathor9 @ParagDesai #MumbaiTalkeez #NaandhiInHindi,” Ajay wrote on Twitter.
Ajay Devgn said, “Naandhi is an important film, exposing certain loopholes in the administration. The original Telugu version was effective and touched a raw nerve. The script for the remake is currently being finalized. Once we have the cast and key talent in place, I may be able to say more.”
Raju said he is thrilled to have collaborated with Devgn on an important story like Naandhi.
The Telugu version featured Allari Naresh as Surya Prakash, an under-trial prisoner. He is falsely accused of murder, faces abuse in custody. Aadhya, fresh off law school, takes up his case and proves his innocence.
The Hindi version will be produced by Ajay Devgn Films, Dil Raju Productions, Kuldeep Rathore, and Mumbai Talkeez. The star cast and the director are yet to be finalized.
