Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her acting debut in Mani Ratnam’s 1997 Tamil film ‘Iruvar’ and had her first Hindi film release in ‘Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya’ that same year. The actress had acted in my Kollywood movies and recently, it was revealed that she the first choice to play the lead in Venkatesh Daggubati starrer ‘Preminchukundam Raa.’
As per to a leading daily, director Jayanth C Paranjee wanted to cast Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play the female lead role but she had been refused by the makers of ‘Preminchukundam Raa’ as the actress was not so popular at that time and she already had two flops in her kitty.
Eventually, the role eventually went to Anjala Zaveri who played the role of Kaveri and took the hearts of the viewers with her appearance. Later, she scored a hit in the Telugu film industry and was later asked to collaborate with Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi too.
For the unversed, ‘Preminchukundam Raa’ became the first Telugu movie to run 100 days in more than 50 centers and for 50 days in 57 centers. This movie was a blockbuster in the box office and was also known as one of the big hits in Venkatesh Daggubati’s career.
