The handsome hunk was born on November 16, 1985, to a Punjabi Hindu father Kumud Roy Kapur and an Indian Jewish mother Salome Aaron. Everyone in his family belongs to the entertainment industry. His mother, Salome Roy Kapoor is a former Miss India, who turned to choreography, while his grandfather, Raghupat Roy Kapoor was a renowned film producer.

Aditya Roy Kapur of ‘Aashiqui 2’ fame is the youngest in the family and has two elder brothers Siddharth Roy Kapur the CEO of UTV Motion Pictures and Kunal Roy Kapur is his second brother. His elder brother is married to actress Vidya Balan.

Aditya aspired to be a cricketer in his childhood but later entered the world of entertainment as a VJ on Channel V and it is said that he was dating VJ Rhea Chakraborty in the initial phase of his career. He was also linked to Shraddha Kapoor during the shoot of ‘Aashiqui 2’.

Before his acting days, the actor was interested in music and wanted to cut an album. Aditya is also a guitarist and he even plays in a band.
