Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan — who was last seen in Angrezi Medium — has passed away today (April 29, 2020). Irrfan Khan was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for Colon infection.
Irrfan Khan had been fighting Cancer since 2018 and the news of his demise comes a few hours after his spokesperson had confirmed that he was under doctor’s observation. The 53-year old actor is survived wife Sutapa and sons – Babil and Ayan.

Remembering Irrfan Khan, Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar wrote a condolence note on Twitter which reads, “My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om Shanti. Irfaan Khan salute.”
It is to be noted that Irrfan Khan breathed his last a few days after her mother Saeeda Begum died in Jaipur. The actor could not attend the funeral due to the nationwide lockdown.
Irrfan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in 2018 and sought treatment in the UK for a year.
In February 2020, Irrfan Khan addressed his fans in a heartwarming voice message, saying that he will not be able to promote the film owing to his health issues.
Irrfan Khan is popularly known for her roles in Bollywood movies like ‘Maqbool’ and ‘Piku’. The versatile actor earned a National Award for his powerful act in sports drama ‘Paan Singh Tomar’. Besides Bollywood, he was globally recognised for his roles in movies like ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, ‘Inferno’ and ‘Life of Pi’.
