Abhishek Bachchan: A lady slapped me for embarrassing family name
Abhishek Bachchan returned to the silver screen with Manmarziyan this year after a hiatus of two years. He has been positively vocal about his success and failure in the film industry. He recently shared a shocking story while attending the Jagran Film Summit.He narrated an incident where he was slapped outside a theatre in Mumbai by a lady who was Amitabh Bachchan’s fan.
The actor said, “Yes, it is true…disgruntled customer I guess (laughs). It was a tough time.”
Abhishek had spoken about the incident back in 2012 in an episode of ‘Yeh Hai Meri Kahaani,’ which used to air on UTV Stars. The Quint quoted him saying, “It was a tough time. I had once gone to Gaiety Galaxy to see how my film (Shararat) was doing; a lady came out and slapped me and said you’re embarrassing your family’s name, stop acting.” He furthur added, “Thankfully, I’m able to laugh about it today, but at that point, it was not a very good feeling.”
At the event, Abhishek also revealed how his family reacted to ‘Manmarziyaan’ and his character Robbie. As per a report in DNA, the actor said, “What did Aishwarya feel about Robbie? She said you are a very good actor (laughs). She enjoyed it, she enjoyed it very much. She’d been travelling, so she couldn’t get to see it before release, she saw it after release. So, she liked it very much, thankfully, ya. The family has reacted positively. So, that’s good. Yes, he (Amitabh Bachchan) loved it.”
