Assembly elections: ‘Ab Badlega Rajasthan’ says Sachin Pilot via video campaign

Assembly elections: 'Ab Badlega Rajasthan' says Sachin Pilot via video campaign. Sachin Pilot seems to be happy and hopes Congress will return to power.

President of Rajasthan Congress party and one of the chief ministerial aspirants, Sachin Pilot has shared a video on microblogging site Twitter titled, Ab Badlega Rajasthan. The Congress leader seems to be happy and hopes Congress will return to power in Rajasthan.

In the video titled Ab Badlega Rajasthan, Congress tried to show that once the grand old party comes to power, Rajasthan will be freed from agrarian distress, unemployment and several other issues.

The state president has earlier alleged that law and order in the state have collapsed, there was social disharmony, cases of mob lynching, cow vigilantism and social unrest were on the rise and the BJP was seeking to use “caste, community and religion” to boost its prospects.

Sachin Pilot has also called the incumbent chief minister Vasundhara Raje is a very disliked person.

Notably,  Sachin Pilot was appointed Rajasthan Congress chief in 2014 after the Congress debacle in the 2013 Assembly polls.

When asked about 2013 Rajasthan Assembly elections, Pilot acknowledged that anti-incumbency was a factor as BJP had won 163 of 200 seats in the 2013 assembly elections but they had “betrayed the trust of people”.

Asked about the number of seats Congress will win in the upcoming Assembly elections. Pilot quoted by news agency IANA as saying that he cannot predict the future, but “with five years of my work and the party being strong on the ground, I am very confident that we will get a thumping majority.”

It is to be noted that BJP has changed its poll strategy for Rajasthan elections 2018 and fielded its Transport Minister Yoonus Khan against Congress Rajasthan chief Sachin Pilot in the Muslim-dominated Tonk Assembly constituency by replacing sitting MLA Ajit Singh Mehta. On December 7, Rajasthan will go to polls.
