1. Aasif Sheikh started his career with Hum Log on DD National which was India’s first daily television show. The actor was seen playing a negative role as Prince Ajay Singh in the popular family drama.
2. He was an athlete in his younger days and aspired to become a springboard diver or a cricketer. Unfortunately, due to an injury, he left sports and inclined towards theatre.
3. Sheikh is associated with the Indian People’s Theatre Association, Mumbai. He has acted in many plays like Kabuliwala, Aakhri Shama, Simla Coffee House, Hum Deewane Hum Parwane, Ek Baar Phir and Aaall izz Well. One of his popular plays is U-Turn which also starred Poonam Dhillon.
4. In 1991, Aasif bagged his first film as the lead role in ‘Yaara Dildara’. The film also marked debut of music directors Jatin Lalit and is best known for the popular song “Bin Tere Sanam”.
5. In 1992, Sheikh got married to Zeba Sheikh and since then they are living a happily married life.
