Aamir Khan’s tryst with perfectionism is exemplary. He loves to rediscover himself in every film. Aamir Khan who will be next seen in Thugs of Hindostan directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the actor will be speaking Awadhi. And it’s left to Prakash Bhardwaj, renowned dialect and acting tutor to train Aamir on this front.
“Aamirji has a penchant for different kinds of languages. In every film, he tries to do something different. I have worked with him in Thugs of Hindostan and he speaks Awadhi in the film,” said Bhardwaj who is ready with his debut directorial venture Colours of Life starring Rituparna Sengupta and Priyanshu Chatterjee. It’s a bilingual film (English and Bengali).
Coming back to his association with Aamir, Bhardwaj, also a trained theatre artiste, has been working with the actor since Rang De Basanti (2006). Ghajini, Talaash and Dangal are the other films he has teamed up with Aamir.
Aamir did win a lot of accolades for his impeccable Haryanvi dialect in Dangal. Credit goes to Bhardwaj for imparting the right skills to the superstar. “Haryanvi is a difficult language. But nothing is tough for him. He understands cinema and likes to pick up a variety of dialects. He wants me to be there with him when he is shooting. We rehearse together,” said Bhardwaj, who has also been the dialogue trainer in Kurbaan and Love Aaj Kal.
Meanwhile Bhardwaj has some projects lined up and is in talks with Aamir’s production house. He has already submitted a couple of scripts and is confident something will come up. Any plans to direct Aamir? Said Bhardwaj, “It would be like a dream come true.” Aamir Khan is currently occupied with his ambitious project, the adaptation of the Mahabharata and Bhardwaj will be a part of it too.
