RIP Puneeth Rajkumar: Actor’s funeral postponed to Sunday

Puneeth Rajkumar passed away at the age of 46 after suffering a heart attack while working out at the gym. He was popularly known as Powerstar and Appu. His sudden demise left the entire entertainment industry and his fans in shock.

Currently, the mortal is at Kanteerava Studio for public viewing as fans and celebrities visit to pay their last respect.  Now, Rajkumar’s last rites will be performed tomorrow, said Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday.

News agency ANI tweeted as: “Daughter of actor Puneeth Rajkumar has reached Delhi (from US) & will arrive in Bengaluru by 7 pm today. As per our tradition, we don’t perform funeral after sunset. His last rites will be performed at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru tomorrow: Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai”

Many Tollywood actors like Nandamuri Balakrishna, Yash, Jr NTR, Prashanth Neel, and Rana Dagubati along with choreographer Prabhudheva was seen attending the last rites of Puneeth Rajkumar.

The late actor was admitted to the city’s Vikram Hospital at 11.30 am after complaining of chest pain. He will be cremated in Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru with full state honours.
