Bengaluru Rains: Airport Flooded, Passengers Take Tractor Ride From Terminal
Bengaluru Rains> City Witnesses Wettest October in 2 Decades, Airport Flooded, Man Killed
The IMD had issued an orange alert for Bengaluru with a forecast indicating heavy rainfall for the next couple of days. On Monday heavy rains lashed the city causing waterlogging on the roads. Bengaluru International Airport was also inundated with rainwater. 11 departing flights were delayed due to the adverse weather conditions till 10 pm.
Taxis and private vehicles, on their way to the airport, were left stranded. Passengers were unable to enter or leave the terminals. Some were seen taking tractor rides from the terminal.

The Kempegowda International Airport has recorded a massive 178.3 mm of rainfall
In another incident, a man was killed due to a short circuit in a house that was flooded. The incident took place in Konappana Agrahara. The victim was identified as Venkatesh(56) a painter by profession. His wife was standing on the road when he went inside the house to switch on the electricity, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Bengaluru West Division, Sanjeev M Patil.
The city has been witnessing waterlogging in several areas. Many factors are being attributed to the reason behind the heavy spells. While IMD officials have said a cyclonic circulation has resulted in heavy rains. Some experts indicated global warming and climate change as factors
