Popular Malayalam Dancer Turned Actress Passes Away At 38
Popular Malayalam dancer-turned-actress Sreelakshmi passed away today(September 28). Known for her impeccable dancing skills in classical dance the actress was just 38 years old. According to media reports, she was hospitalised and passed away while undergoing treatment for pneumonia.
Sreelakshmi has acted in many films and serials. She is best known for her role as Elankavilamma in the music album directed by Sri Arun Thampi. The actress is survived by her husband Vinod and two sons who are completing their studies.
Sreelakshmi is also known for performing in various ballets at Aravindaksha Menon’s Jayakerala Dance College, Thripunithura, Kerala. She has also won the All Kerala Dance College’s State Award 2020 for her performance in the ballet Ardhangana by Pathanamthitta Mudra Nrithavedi.
It’s a sad year for the Malayalam film industry as many Malayalam stalwarts and celebs passed away. Earlier this month, Popular Malayalam actor Rizabawa has passed away. Rizabawa was known for his performances in movies like Champakulam Thachan, Kabuliwala and others.
A week ago, Malayalam actress Miya’s father George Joseph too passed away at the age of 75. For the unversed, Nalleni Chitra recently left for a heavenly abode at her Chennai residence after suffering a heart attack. Noted author, actor and screenwriter, P Balachandran too passed away.
