BlackPink’s WeVerse debut triggers confusion; app apologises to ARMY’s
BlackPink debuts on South Korean app, WeVerse. Their notifications create confusion for BTS ARMY's. The app issues an official apology through statement
BlackPink members-Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo and Rose made their debut on South Korean application WeVerse. The girl band made their debut on Monday i.e Aug 2, which triggered to few confusions among BTS ARMY’s. Many of the BTS fans highlighted about getting notifications on posts done by the girl group members, when they were not following the band. ARMY’s took to social media platform to highlight about this issues. And soon the application issues an apology.
Many global fans use WeVerse only to keep up with the updates about BTS members. This seven members group is the only group on the platform to have highest number of fan following. Post BlackPink’s debut, the four idols started sharing videos and pictures with their new fans. While BLACKPINK fans got reasons to celebrate, few of BTS ARMY’s appeared being unhappy for receiving notifications even after not following BlackPink. Many BTS fans took to Twitter and posted the screenshots.

According to the Korean media outlets, WeVerse issued an official statement. It read, “We are deeply sorry for causing Weverse community notifications error. On August 2, between 12:00PM and 12:48PM, an error occurred and some Weverse users who allowed the push notifications received notifications from a certain Weverse community that they did not join. We sincerely apologise for causing inconveniences to our users due to a temporary system error. Weverse immediately took on the task of correcting the system right after the error occurred, and the notifications system is back to normal now.”
