Netrikann: Disney+ Hotstar unveils first poster of Nayanthara’s OTT film

Lady superstar Nayanthara‘s much-delayed film Netrikann is all set to release on Disney+ Hotstar. The crime drama that has the actress playing a blind woman was postponed due to COVID-19Pandemic. The official Twitter handle of Disney+ Hotstar, shared a new poster to confirm the film’s release. But they have not revealed the premiere date as yet.

The film marks the debut of Nayanthara’s boyfriend Vignesh Shivn as producer. He has bankrolled the project under the banner of Rowdy Pictures. Vignesh shared the poster and wrote, “Happy & proud be associated !!! Release date very very soon (sic).”

Netrikann is tipped to be based on the Korean film titled Blind. It is about a blind woman who gives testimony in a hit-and-run case and is then forced to confront the killer on her own. Nayanthara plays a character who loses her eyesight after a road accident. The film stars Ajmal Ameer as the antagonist.

Apart from Nayanthara, Netrikann also features Manikandan Pattambi and Saran in important roles.

On the work front, Nayanthara was last seen in Mookuthi Amman. The movie had also released on Disney+ Hotstar. Netrikann will be Nayanthara’s second OTT release in a row. Apart from this, she has also signed a two-film deal with Dream Warrior Pictures. Nayanthara also has the Telugu remake of Lucifer in the pipeline. The movie features Chiranjeevi in the lead.
